How long have you been on DFS?/When have you started playing on DFS?

I'm pretty sure I first played on DFS in 2014. I left shortly after and joined different communities. I'm back now though.

Why do you want to become a staff member?

First of all, I've got to mention the recent activity on the servers. I recently quit a Community due to mass toxicity.

I've been actively playing on DFS for the past 3 months and managed to level up around 30-50 Levels (I think?). From my

recent experience, DFS really is a perfect hub free from toxicity, and I'm willing to stay here anytime.

I might mention that due to my Timezone and School times I often join the servers when no Staff is on, and I would be glad to watch over

the servers when no one else is able to.

Second of all, I've got a lot of experience with the Source Engine and Mapping. I would gladly try to help the Staff in testing maps,

finding bugs, and suggesting possible fixes.

I also would gladly help DFS mappers (Staff AND Regulars) in need of a visual facelift for their maps. I specialize

in creating complex atmospheric scenery while still maintaining the natural TF2 artstyle.

I am also a Sound Engineer and can create custom sound effects for the server or people's maps.

Past experiences as a staff member

I am currently The Co-Founder of "AccessedVault.tf", a Mapping Jailbreak community. The servers aren't active though, and serve only for private map testing purposes.
Managing this Community shouldn't interfere with moderating DFS.
I also contributed to "Blackwonder.tf" as a Donator for over a year. (Which basically means moderating the servers. You are given powers to punish rule-breakers and such.)

How active are you on DFS? If you're accepted, how active can you be on DFS?

I play on DFS for 3-8 hours daily. It will certainly not change after getting accepted, as stated in the Reasoning above.

Have you ever been banned from DFS before? If so, why?

I'm the guy behind "Dr_Doom" that was on your servers a couple of months ago. I am sorry for the lack of quality for Doom, it was a truly generic deathrun map, but it served as a path for me to learn mapping basics.

I'm currently working on a Remake of my older Jailbreak map AND a Recreation of the Spencer Mansion from Resident Evil 1 (Puzzle and Exploration orientated Friendly map dedicated for DFS.)

One thing that might be a problem is my lack of conversations with staff on the servers.
I am usually quiet on the server that don't chat as much as some other members do. It is certain that some Staff members might not know me at all or just know me as a generic micspammer.
I only talk to friends or when memeing around. I'm trying to not derail myself into becoming too talkative.
Recently I use the Discord's Voice Channel a lot though, and I hope my communications with Staff members will improve.

So in conclusion, I hope I am worthy of becoming a Staff member, mainly because of previous community managing experience.

First and foremost it pleases me that you like DFS i do also enjoy seeing you around.

As far as i know you seem to have good humour and seem to be well versed in moderating of servers, map making skills and experience with the source engine is always a plus.

I have never seen you break any rules and i do hope it stays this way

. and you seem nice to have around.

I would say i feel you would make a good candidate for moderator on DFS.

EDIT 22/04: Regarding recent events both with twisting a report in your favor and targeting of a player on our server i do not think you are suited for moderator on DFS i will have to vote no

EDIT 22/04: In light of an acknowledgement of the bad behaviour i'm going to stay neutral for the time being, i hope to see improvement so these things don't happen again.

Your leveling seems to line up with 5-8 hours a day and that seems like great activity to me.
Going around and asking for staff opinions and looking to better yourself shows a high level of maturity. Knowing that you're experienced with moderating and the more technical side of Team Fortress 2 is promising as well. As quiet as you usually are, I have noticed that you're making an effort to be more vocal like joining public VC and speaking in the text chat. Your level of maturity and previous experience shows me that you have a good understanding of the role and all the responsibilities that come with it. However, if it's not too much trouble, I would like to know where else you moderate.
I think you would be a good fit for a moderator here. My vote is "Yes." Good luck!

Edit 22/04: Due to recent events it has become clear that staff opinion has changed. Having seen the screenshots and gotten the full story my own opinion has changed as well. As of this moment it is fairly clear that with the behavior you have demonstrated recently you are not fit to be a moderator on this server. However, I feel that it is not to late to take responsibility for your actions and be forgiven. Until such actions occurs, my own vote will be changed to "No" as well.

It is clear that you have a great understanding of what it means to be a staff member, and you've proven that you are already an active member of this community. Never seen you break any rules, and I appreciate that you are aware of your need to improve communication with other staff members. That indeed shows a good sense of maturity, and your previous experience definitely helps as well. As for the technical side of things, having another mapper and sound engineer would be a massive help in increasing the variety of maps that our community offers.

I'm having a hard time whether or not to vote yes or be on the fence, because activity-wise, it seems like you're like me who spent their entire day in the server when motivated and I like that. The reasoning doesn't seem cliche at all, not if the direct opposite of cliche and generic, so that's another benefit in this application. It's really nice to know you also can map and be a sound engineer at the same time, which might explain the odd but nicely made memespams from my experience.

But, and this is a regular but. You have to decide whether or not you want to dedicate your time as a moderator or as a mapper/sound engineer, because doing all three can be time consuming and really stressful unless you have some sort of loophole you can do. And I don't know if this is even allowed to be mentioned, but DFS lacks an official mapper as Light is the only one on the team if we're speaking official-wise. Otherwise, we have a few who also map for a living, like Alex Turtle and Jeff as an example. You have to be really sure if you want to dedicate yourself as a moderator AND do mapmaking/sound engineering. Developer is also another choice you can do, and from how I see it as, it would fit you more as you can provide sounds along with our other talentful sound engineer, Neppu, decreasing the time required to pick sounds for our noisemakers.

Ask yourself if you want to occupy yourself as a moderator or as a developer. I'll be on the fence for now, it appears.

Thanks for replying, @blank.

I have to say that I'd prefer Moderator over Developer. Even though I have a lot of spare time, I can't work on Sounds and Mapping fulltime for the server. l have a W.I.P map that overshadows other mapping-related projects. (Including the Resident Evil map)

I can do mapping and sound creations occasionally if the Staff/Owner/Developers request me to do so. I think providing and editing sounds for noisemakers is a thing I could do the most without any problems, but if you want custom sound effects or music for the servers/promo videos I can't do it as much as simply editing sound files for noisemakers. (But I still can, rarely though.)

I think the Developer role wouldn't fit me as much as Moderator, you would be dissapointed over my inability to work on these things fulltime. I would rather do them as a hobby, and moderate the servers as my main job.

Your technical knowledge is a plus and could be useful, but that's besides the responsibilities of the role.

It's promising to see that you're very active and recognise what you could improve, but until I can see why you want to become a member of the staff, I'm staying on the fence.

I think it's a really big mistake from me to not include the reason in the app, I thought it was too cliched and overused in apps and tried to implement better reasons like the "Joining early". But,

I just want to punish rule-breakers on the go, of course. Really cliche. But the lack of power against multiple rule-breakers I've come across in the past is terrible. (Spawn-killing, Toxicity, Prohibited micspamming) Reporting them on the forums is a viable option, but it is a lengthy process. I used to report rule-breakers almost everyday on different communities, so I know what annoyance it really is.

I want to keep the server a friendly hub for other players, just how it is for me.
I DON'T want any players to fall victim to toxicity or cyber-bullying. Toxicity was a huge problem for me in the latest communities and lead to me dealing with mental issues and ultimately leaving the community I once called perfect and used to map for.

PS. I'm planning on adding punishment methods to my application (what punishment and for what length). Hope it will help you understand the way I'd moderate better (even though you stated I spoke about it before.) I'm trying to get my reasons and way of moderating clear to everyone.

What do you possibly mean by "on the go", because even though we as a staff member do that from time to time, it's ill-advised to go right to punishments if the person does it perhaps once or twice. And about reporting rulebreakers, we have a glorious command called /calladmin which allows you to send a message directly to the staff with the reason you provide. As risque as it is, a lot of the reasons are justified already from the get go as the target either does it while being watched or there's enough witnesses that tells the same story. It's a good way to increase your reputation as well, but don't solely rely on being a reporter, especially if a staff member is there.

By "Dealing with rule-breakers on the go" I meant dealing with the rule-breakers myself with the use of !warn or even !slap and !slay, without having to report the situation over to moderators and having to rely on them to deal with them first. By "on the go" I didn't mean punishing them with the higher tier punishments the first time they break a rule. I know about !calladmin, but It still takes a long time for Moderators to join and deal with the rule-breakers, which I could have already dealt with without wasting other moderators' time if I was staff.

Here's a short demonstration of how I'd deal with different types of rule-breakers:

Warn him using chat/Warn him with !warn >> 60Min Mute >> 120Min Mute >> 6H Mute

Chat Spamming:

The punishments after 60Min may not be accurate. I never saw any players get punished after getting 60Min punishments on DFS, I'm just basing these on the punishment system from an other server I've played in the past. Correct me if some of these are incorrect for DFS.
