How long have you been on DFS?/When have you started playing on DFS?

I don't recall exactly when I first joined DFS nor how much time I spent on it. Probably not a lot. I'd have liked to play more but I was always confused when I joined the servers, which made me have a weird experience. I came back recently and I'm willing to spend more time.

Which region are you from?

France, I don't mind if you call me a baguette man.

Why do you want to become a staff member?

I joined in the last preparation day of xmas update, even though that was just 42 hours, it was fun. And everyone seemed nice which I had not seen in a very long time. It made me reconsider my decision leaving steam and tf2 altogether as I thought there would be no more friendly and active community.

Are you currently a staff member elsewhere?

I'm not. But I'm more a consultants to different communities I'm not committed to them.

How active are you on DFS? If you're accepted, how active can you be on DFS?

Not that active. I would try my best to remedy to it and be part of it, it would also be my last reason to stick around team fortress 2 and steam in general.

Have you ever been banned from DFS before? If so, why?

Not to my knowledge.

Currently still studying in college, with Security as specialty I have still a lot to learn though but I aim at graduating as a computer engineer, and later if I feel like it earn a Phd. I know how to use C/C++ and any C based language. I do know how to use popular script languages like Python and Javascript. I like making projects on my own in my spare time like master servers, and client (practicing so I can learn new way of exchanging data, secure it while remaining as efficient as possible). I also made some discord bots, and I aim with the help of a web developer to create my very first free public service in the foreseeable future.

A discord library made in C++ though I don't really like it enough to make a public release so I'll just mention it.
I also have a unreleased game on steam.

Since your association with Glubbable's and later on Ṙed Ṡun's server, I honestly wasn't expecting you to ever end up coming to DFS, but I'm glad you're here now to officially apply as a Developer.
You seem to have found a liking to DFS if you actually made that choice, so I'm glad you're actually liking it here and we hope that it's going to stay like that.

As for your skills, you have helped us out in the past quite a lot with either Plugin Fixes etc. of some random plugins that ended up being broken for reasons, or with other stuff.
I can't wait to see what achievements you'll achieve in the future with your talent. You'll be a great asset to our team so you have my approval.

So now that I am actually back in the Netherlands, time to write a reply to this application.

Ben, you have been many places and your skill/knowledge with SourcePawn is phenomenal. It was very nice (and still is) to work you and I am glad to see that even after certain events you are willing to get back into contributing to a Team Fortress 2 server community and join DFS. Hope to see you on board soon.

Very excited to have you around benoist.

I can't really say it without sounding like i'm repeating what light said, but your skills as a coder is an important asset to how communities flesh themselves out and differentiate themselves, what you've created for other communities is incredible and having you around would be a huge help to the future of DFS itself.

Having you on board would be an amazing accomplishment.

The man himself. Pretty shocking seeing you here to apply.

Any Developers here are always welcomed by me, since we can't wait to see what exciting stuff you guys can make. And, as one of the makers for Slender Fortress, we all sit and wonder what amazing ideas you could come up with next.

Levels don't honestly matter for me if you're running for a Developer, but if you want to be a Discord guy, then you need to be a tad more active to keep the place from going too crazy. But you seem to have this down seeing as you currently moderate 2 servers.

Seeing all your work that you've produced, we all say that you have a real knack for coding and stuff, so I'll be vouching for a big yes. Best of luck to you!

You have a lot of experience in coding, and you've helped out countless amount of communities with your experience.

You've also developed and given us VSH Re-write, countless amount of other fixes & support in coding as well, that we appreciate very much.

You're definitely fitting to join the team.
