How long have you been on DFS?/When have you started playing on DFS?

I would pinpoint my official start in late 2017. It's been nearly consistent. But there was a huge blotch of inactivity in early 2018.

Which region are you from?

East Coast, United States.

Which position are you applying for? (Server Moderator, Developer, Discord Moderator)

Server Moderator.

Level 121.

Why do you want to become a staff member?

I could say the typical "I want to help players", "I want to make it funner", or "I want to help uphold the rules", but those are just a given for being a mod. My main reason would be giving back to the server. Okay yes, that's typical too. Continuing on, DFS affected the way I play TF2. This server got me into the silly side of TF2 and got me away from the focus on combat. Which was definitely good for my mental state cause I cannot be competitive to save my life. I most likely would've dropped TF2 by now had I not found DFS. I first donated 3 keys to show my thanks. An issue arose, however. I can't afford to donate every month, so I had to figure out another way. Now that mod applications are open forever, I thought why not straight up work for the server? Dedicate more of my time to it in a constructive way. That's the main reason I wish to work as a server moderator.

Past experiences as a staff member

I am currently a mod for a Roblox game and that game's Discord. The game gets <20 players on average and the Discord has 90+ members. The community typically behaves well but there's always the occasional troll, spammer, or exploiter that needs action.

How active are you on DFS? If you're accepted, how active can you be on DFS?

I try to be on once every day during the week. On weekends I can be on multiple times in a day.
As for how active I can be, I'm typically available from 2:30-10 PM (EST) on Monday-Thursday. On Friday I am available from 2:30-5 PM and then 9:30-11 PM. On weekends it can vary, but the most common situation is that I'm available from 9 AM-11 PM.

Have you ever been banned from DFS before? If so, why?

I have not.

I enjoy playing on the server for long periods of time. I make sure to always follow the rules, which explains the no bans. I like to mess around and have fun. I think it's the best thing in life to be able to do. Coming back from school and opening up the server always excites me. It seems like there's always some sort of new random thing going on and it's dang enjoyable. That's all I can think of for this section, even if some of it is similar to a ramble.

The grammar is great, the format is exactly like the one in the example, you show honest words and also pokes fun at the generic words most applications have with self-awareness. Level also seems good for only a year. However, and this is a big however, activity should be the biggest factor you have to verse against as becoming a mod, you are expected to be on almost every day to three-five days a week and do your role as a moderator as once a week is really low.

Other than that, I suppose you can have a yes from me.

Oh shoot, I didn't mean once a week. I wanted to imply that I was able to get on once every day during the week. Sorry about that.

Activity is great, reasoning is solid, and experience as a mod is always a plus. Even though I haven't seen you much on the servers (might be because of the time zone), you seem like a very mature and responsible person. Showing your great interest for the server also makes me think you'd be a great addition to the staff.

Your level is pretty good for someone who's only been on the servers for less than a year. Your activity does sound good, but being an EU mod, I can't comment on it firsthand.

I appreciate that you recognise how generic the listed reasons for wanting to join the staff team are, but what you added isn't much better unfortunately - you can be a helpful member of the community without being a staff member, and your reason doesn't show much of an appreciation of the day-to-day responsibilities of a Server Moderator. However, having moderation experience elsewhere is a big plus.

All in all, your application is quite good, and I'd be willing to give you a shot. Best of luck!

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I will admit I have problems with coming up with my own original reasoning. It ends up being bland and I kick myself in the shin for it. I always strive for improvement though. If I ever have to end up making a new application, for this server or for something like a job, I will definitely try to improve my ability to come up with actual original reasoning. Your level is a bit low, but promising enough for my approval. I haven't seen you much on the servers, but that's probably because you have more important stuff to do, such as school or work.

In all the times that I've seen you here, you seem like a very mature person who hasn't been a spot of bother for anyone. I also really like your reasoning to become a Moderator, since supporting us is always a big help.

All in all, I'd be slightly leaning towards a yes. Wish ya luck out there!

At the time of making your application, your activity on the servers was fairly good and, although you did not provide a great reasoning for wanting to be a staff member, your previous experience was a big plus.
However, since then your activity seems to have dropped, especially with you stating you've uninstalled TF2 and taken a break in the DFS Discord. Server Moderators are required to maintain a good level of activity on the servers, and this kind of inconsistency just isn't good enough for the role.

Since we're keeping your application under review, if you improve on the issues we've identified, you may be accepted further down the line.

Yeaaaah. I got burnt out cause I only ever play on DFS or with bots. I think if I were to throw in Casual or some other server I would definitely get my activity up since I'd be doing more than just two things.
I do think that if I did get the role, I wouldn't do such breaks like this. I'm not just going to slack on the responsibility. I do plan on getting back on in the next week or even after this maintenance.
Thanks for not entirely denying me on this. I was actually kind of afraid of how taking a little break would affect this application.
