How long have you been on DFS?/When have you started playing on DFS?

Been aware of the community for quite some time, played only twice (genuinely tried to, but the servers were a bit laggy so I kinda had a so-so experience).

Which region are you from?

Netherlands

Which position are you applying for? (Server Moderator, Developer, Discord Moderator)

Developer and Discord Moderator

Your DFS level

Genuinely no idea, probably level 2? Was told this did not matter for Dev / Discord Mod.

Why do you want to become a staff member?

After working on a specific part of the prime update it was pretty motivating to realise that there are Team Fortress 2 servers out there where people actually co-operate and are not toxic at all.

Are you currently a staff member elsewhere?

Past experiences as a staff member

I made Red Sun together with someone else. Basically Slag Gaming revived, in a way.
I am responsible for making Slag Gaming's Freak Fortress 2 server be 32/32 almost anytime of the day with custom code and close communication with it's dedicated players and was the only person bothering with GM #3, the only EU Gamemode Madness server they had. I was known for being very strict but getting the job done.

How active are you on DFS? If you're accepted, how active can you be on DFS?

Not active at all. Would actually genuinely re-install Team Fortress 2 and be active in general.

Have you ever been banned from DFS before? If so, why?

I have a job as an application engineer in which I am developing in PHP with Laravel, I can use git, sass/scss, elixir, am experienced in JavaScript/ECMA, can do a bit of Python and love databases. When I am not at work I am playing a game that I like and regularely program something in my spare time, like a Discord bot or something in a complete different language. I can work a lot of ways and learn new things very quickly.

If you're applying to be a developer, show us an example of your previous work. Anything will do including source code, model files, map files and so forth.

redsun.tf/ - all things in there made by my hands and keyboards, also initial base sourcemod plugins powering the system and gamemode additions / rewrites.

If applying to be a Discord moderator, make sure to include Discord related certain informations, like if you've moderated a Discord server before, how active you're on Discord, your Discord username and tag etc etc.

I literally breathe Discord with Nitro and Hypesquad, running it at home and at work and being capable of moderating anytime as long as I got internet or am not too busy.

I moderated the Red Sun discord as an admin and some small niche servers, but that is not as important, point is is that I have moderated a server before.

The madman actually did it eh? Pretty surprised myself but I'm glad to see you're willing to work with us further.

I like the work you've made/are making, you like to put a lot of effort into things and seem like a hardworking person yourself. Which alone makes you a great fit to become a Developer.

Having seen your work myself, I can definitely say you'd be an amazing addition to the Dev team, you know what you're doing and you're talented, I think you'd be perfect as a Developer for DFS, and I'm glad you are interested in working with DFS further.

As for Discord Moderator, I'm a bit conflicted, on one hand you haven't had that much experience with DFS, on the other hand considering how dedicated you seem to be and your insane activity on Discord, it'd be a good kind of Moderator, but I can't really give a definitive answer personally.

After seeing what you made for RedSun and what you've made so far for the Prime Update, I'd be glad to have you join the staff team as a Developer. You haven't been on the servers much but you're clearly capable of producing high quality work.

On the other hand, that lack of activity makes me more hesitant in regards to applying for the role of Discord Moderator. While you have quite a bit of previous experience, your low level makes me concerned about how well you would know the community, how well the community would know and trust you and how familiar you would be with DFS' atmosphere. That said, I don't know how different the atmosphere and community of RedSun is, but given the similar nature of our servers, I imagine moderating their Discord would not be much different than moderating a DFS Discord, making having experience there a serious benefit.

I'm on the fence about bringing you into the team as a Discord Moderator, but you've already shown that you can do well as a Developer. Good luck!

Application looks good, haven't seen you on the servers at all and level is very low, but going off of your past work and what other mods are saying, I'd say you'd be well qualified for developer, though I can't vouch for Discord mod.

yeah, I added Discord mod on the assumption that applying the rules, being very available and having used almost all Discord moderation bots out there would be a fulfilling criteria with getting to know the community as an after thought.
